Rui Lobo
He is a professor at the Architecture Department of FCTUC and a researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra. He holds PhD in Architecture, in 2010, at the University of Coimbra: A Universidade na Cidade. Urbanismo e Arquitectura universitários na Península Ibérica da Idade Média e da primeira Idade Moderna. He has produced research in the field of Theory and History of Architecture, particularly in the history of university architecture and urbanism and in the history of Portuguese architecture (16th to 18th centuries). He has taught course units of Architecture Theory and History, Design and Research Seminar. Between 2015 and 2018, he was Subdirector of the Department of Architecture of FCTUC. He was Principal Researcher of the Santa Cruz Research Project, financed by FCT and FEDER/COMPETE2020/POCI, between 2018 and 2022.

Mauro Costa Couceiro
Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra. Over the past two decades, he has been teaching and developing techniques and technologies around analogies between Biology, Architecture and Design, particularly in the interaction of analog and digital processes, covering the fields of materialization and design through robotic methods (CAM) and Artificial Intelligence (CCAD – Computer Creative Assisted Design). He has developed his doctoral research at the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya, Escuela Superior de Arquitectura, linking to this day the “Consolidated Research Group of Genetic Architectures” in Barcelona.
António Monteiro
Master in Architecture. He collaborates regularly with professionals and organizations in the areas of Architecture, Drawing and Design. He was teacher at the Department of Architecture and Landscape at Vasco da Gama University School in Coimbra. He taught 3D Animation in the Art and Design course at Coimbra School of Education. He is currently a research fellow at the Santa Cruz Project. He participated in the founding of «SketchCrawlCoimbra» in 2012, and is an active member of «Salon 40 – Human Body Design». In his free time, he dedicates himself to digital art, urban and alternative themes, developing frequent proposals for exhibitions and artistic activities. He is currently a guest lecturer at DARQ-FCTUC, where he is also working on his doctoral thesis.

Maria de Lurdes Craveiro
Maria de Lurdes Craveiro is Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Arts Faculty of the University of Coimbra (FLUC). She is Correspondent Academic of the National Academy of Fine Arts. PhD in Art History from FLUC (2002) and teacher since 1988 at the Art History Institute of this Faculty. She is currently Coordinator of the 3rd Cycle in Art History.
She is the principal researcher of the “Multidisciplinary Art Studies Group” (GEMA), integrated in July 2007 at the Center for Studies in Archeology, Arts and Heritage Sciences, R&D Unit 281 of the Science and Technology Foundation (FCT).
In collaboration with various entities she has taken a prominent action in the defense, conservation and dissemination of architectural heritage. Noteworthy in Coimbra are the Trindade College, the Santa Clara-a-Velha Monastery, the Inquisition Courtyard, the medieval S. Domingos Monastery, the Santa Cruz Monastery, the Old Cathedral and the New Cathedral of Coimbra, Grijó Monastery and the church of S. Julião at Figueira da Foz.
She has over half a hundred scientific works published in Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Brazil and the United States of America, covering the conceptual review exercise in Art History, heritage issues or the fields of painting, sculpture and architecture since the late Middle Ages to the neoclassical period. She is, since April 2021, the current Director of the Machado de Castro Nacional Museum (MNMC).

Vítor Murtinho
He is Full Professor at the Department of Architecture (DArq) of FCTUC and researcher at the Center for Social Studies at the University of Coimbra. He was Director of Darq (2004-2006), Vice-President and Subdirector of FCTUC (2002-2011) and Vice-Rector of the University of Coimbra (2011-2019). Since 1987, he has had continuous teaching practice with particular interest in Geometry, Theory and History of Architecture, Sustainability and Rehabilitation of Buildings. His research interests are quite diverse, very much associated with the subjects he teaches, with particular accuracy in the problematics inherent to architectural form.

João Mendes Ribeiro
João Mendes Ribeiro (Coimbra, 1960). Architect by the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto in 1986. Holds a Doctorate in Architecture at the University of Coimbra in 2009. He is Associate Professor of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra, where he teaches Project III. Distinguished with several awards such as FAD Award 2004 and 2016; Gold Medal for Best Stage Design, Prague Quadrennial, 2007; Enor Prize 2009; BIAU 2012 and 2016 Award; RIBA Award for International Excellence 2016 and BigMat Award 2017. He is a researcher of the «Santa Cruz Research Project», financed by FCT and FEDER/COMPETE2020/POCI.

Alexandre Ramires
Alexandre Ramires is a teacher of Physical and Chemical Sciences at Infanta D.Maria Secondary School in Coimbra. He has taught History of Photography and Photographic Genres for the Degree in Artistic Studies at the Arts Faculty of the University of Coimbra. He was Director of the Imagoteca Municipal of Coimbra. He was coordinator of the Porto Photography Archive of the Portuguese Center of Photography.
He conceived and executed, among others, the exhibitions: “Memória das Oposições”, about the activity of oppositions to the Estado Novo; “Há horas que são de todos” and “25 por 25 | Em Abril, um Quartel Depois”, on the 25 of April 1974 in Coimbra; “Revelar Coimbra” and “Passado ao Espelho”, on the beginnings of photography in Coimbra; “Ver a Republica”, about the relationship of the University of Coimbra with the establishment of the Republic in Portugal.
He develops research on the History of Photography in Portugal and especially in Coimbra, where he has authored several publications.
Francisco Henriques
Francisco Henriques holds a PhD in Science of Art and Heritage, and MFA in Art Theories. A Graphic Design graduate, he holds several specializations in Computer Graphics and Digital Image Manipulation.
His research focuses on the interaction between geometry and composition. He teaches image compositing, editing and manipulation, and animation. He is the author of several papers in national and international publications.
Francisco Henriques began his professional career in design studios and advertising agencies, before moving to video post-production, working on TV commercials, video clips, channel branding, and motion titles. Initially working as a 3D modeller and animator, he later became a Flint and Flame artist in compositing, technical supervisor, art director, and director.
He is a researcher of the «Santa Cruz 3D project» (CES-UC), and at the CIEBA group «Francisco de Holanda – Ciências da Arte e do Património» (FBAUL – Faculty of Beaux Arts of the University of Lisbon).
Invited Scientist at the «Blackbox – Arts & Cognition» ERC-funded project hosted by FCSH-UNL, he is now collaboratively developing the VR platform of Sylvia Rijmer´s choreographic work, designing the VR gallery environment and exhibition areas, and creating the visualization formats for the concepts and the results of the Blackbox team’s research on the work of the choreographer.
Licínio Roque
He obtained his doctorate from the University of Coimbra with a thesis on Context Engineering, a socio-technical approach to the development of information systems. His research focuses on Interaction Design and Game Design, with a special focus on the design and study of participatory media. Over the past 20 years he has been involved in several research, development and technology transfer projects, involving innovative explorations of information technologies in fields as diverse as management, governance, learning, cultural heritage, and more recently with a special focus on technologies for creation of digital games.
Susana Lobo
She is Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture FCTUC, Associate Researcher at the Center for Social Studies (CES), University of Coimbra, and Researcher at the Center for Innovation in Territory, Urbanism and Architecture (CITUA), at the Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon. She holds a PhD in Architecture, specializing in Theory and History, from the University of Coimbra, in 2013. She has developed her research on the study of Portuguese Architecture and Urbanism of the 20th Century and on the study of the Architecture and Urbanism of Tourism. She currently teaches the curricular units of Project III and Urbanism, Architecture and Tourism of the Integrated Master in Architecture at DARQ-FCTUC and collaborates with the Seminar on Theory and History and Urbanism of the doctoral program CoimbraStudio of DARQ-FCTUC. She is a researcher of the «Santa Cruz Research Project», financed by FCT and FEDER/COMPETE2020/POCI.

Margarida Relvão Calmeiro
She is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Coimbra. She holds a PhD in Architecture from the University of Coimbra with the thesis Urbanismo antes dos Planos: Coimbra 1834-1934 (2015). She teaches course units in the area of urbanism and conducts a Research Seminar. She is also a teacher and vice-coordinator of the Master in Integrated Urban Rehabilitation of the same department. She develops research in the area of the Theory and History of Urbanism, highlighting the processes of construction and transformation Portuguese cities and territory and in the area of policies and urban planning, with emphasis on intervention in the existing city and urban rehabilitation.

Jorge Cardoso
Jorge C. S. Cardoso is Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the University of Coimbra and researcher at the Center for Informatics and Systems of the University of Coimbra (CISUC). He has a doctorate in Technologies and Information Systems and a master’s degree in Mobile Systems from the School of Engineering of the University of Minho and a degree from the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto.
His research interests are in the area of Human-Computer Interaction (IHC) more specifically in the development and evaluation of interaction techniques and tools for Virtual Reality, Tangible Interfaces and Augmented Reality applied to cultural heritage.
Miguel Alberto
Master in Architecture by DARQ-FCTUC, he completed his master thesis on “Use of Contemporary Digital Tools in the Research in History of Architecture”, defended in September 2020, within the scope of the Santa Cruz Project. He has been a fellow of the Santa Cruz Project since March 2020, and is currently developing the 3D model for the reconstruction of the Santa Cruz monastery in the year of 1834.
Fernando Couto
He holds a Master degree (2014) in Architecture at the University of Coimbra with the thesis Mosteiro de Santa Cruz de Coimbra – Análise e Reconstituição. Studied between 2011 and 2012 at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland. In 2015, he co-founded the AWA Ideas Competitions project. He is currently co-founder of Atelier COMO Arquitectura.

Ana Alcoforado
Ana Alcoforado studied History at the Arts Faculty of the University of Coimbra and was conservative curator of the Sculpture and Furniture Collections of the Machado de Castro National Museum (MNMC). Specialized in Public Administration and author of several publications related to the collections of the MNMC and other specialized publications, including Frei Cipriano da Cruz em Coimbra (Coimbra, 2003) in co-authorship. She has participated as a researcher and commissioner in the production of various exhibitions, script and catalog design and other promotional material. She has conducted training and presented communications, within the scope of Art History (architecture and sculpture), Museology and Heritage Management.
She was the Director of the Machado de Castro National Museum between 2008 and 2021. Since April 2021, she has been the Ombudsman for Inclusion and Citizenship of the DGPC (General Directorate of Cultural Heritage).

José Antonio Muñiz
José Antonio Muñiz is an expert in systems, networks, microprocessors and computer simulation systems. He is also an expert in digital and visual F/X cinema. Founder in 1988 of DIGIVISION, one of the first European companies to provide digital simulation and computer animation services, he is a producer of several TV documentary series. Parallel to the activity of DIGIVISION, he promotes business activities in technological sectors such as virtual reality, engineering and energy.

José Pedro Sousa
Architect graduated from FAUP (Porto), Master in Genetic Architectures from ESARQ-UIC (Barcelona) and PhD in Architecture from IST-UTL (Lisbon). He was Special Student at MIT (Cambridge, MA) and a Visiting Scholar at UPenn (Philadelphia, PA). After teaching at ESARQ-UIC, IAAC and University of Coimbra, he is currently an Assistant Professor at FAUP where he founded and directs the DFL – Digital Fabrication Lab. Merging the realms of teaching, research and practice, his interests are related with constructive geometry, computational design, digital fabrication, robotics, digital culture, material innovation and cork in architecture.
